Diversified Plastics, Inc. welcomes Robert Kieval to board of directors

MINNEAPOLIS—Diversified Plastics, Inc. (DPI), a custom plastic-injection molder and digital manufacturer of high-precision thermoplastic components, has appointed Robert Kieval to its board of directors. Kieval has extensive experience as a chief executive officer and c-level leader in the health care industry with a track record of success in innovation, finance and commercialization of advanced medical technology. He will provide leadership and strategic guidance and serve as an adviser to DPI’s CEO and executive team.

Kieval has over 25 years of medical technology experience, including at top tier, accelerator and start-up businesses. He is the chief executive officer of IMMR, Inc., a provider of R&D services to medical device and biotechnology companies.  He previously served as chief scientific and clinical officer at FemPulse Corporation, a St. Paul, MINN.-based medical device manufacturer in the women’s health space.  He also served as founder, president and CEO, as well as chief development / technology officer, at CVRx, Inc. in Minneapolis, a company that provides implantable, Class III medical devices to treat heart failure and hypertension.  Prior to joining CVRx, Inc., Kieval cofounded and served as business development director at ProtoStar, Inc., a medical technology incubator, in Maple Grove, Minn. In addition, Kieval held various positions, including divisional medical director, at Medtronic, Inc., a global leader in medical technology, services and solutions.

Kieval received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Science, his Doctor of Philosophy and Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris, summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. He has served as chairman, vice chairman and board member at a number of companies and industry associations.  Additionally, Kieval has provided congressional testimony and industry advocacy for several government committees, Senators and a congressional field hearing.
