DPI Is Manufacturing PPE and Other Supplies as Part of the COVID-19 Response

Face-Shields Halos for Colorado-Based Manufacturer

Diversified Plastics, Inc. (DPI) is working with a Colorado-based manufacturer that has received a request for 500,000 face shields from the governor of Colorado. The face shields are important personal protection equipment (PPE) for health care workers who are on the front line of the COVID-19 response. To help meet the high-volume order, DPI is injection molding face-shield halos. Ramping up production very quickly, DPI designed and built a new tool in 48 hours, a process that typically takes up to five weeks.

“This has been an extraordinary effort by our employee owners,” says Kevin Hogan, CEO of Diversified Plastics, Inc. “We now have the capacity to produce 40,000 halos per week.”

Collaborative Manufacturing with the Carbon® Production Network

DPI is working collaboratively with other Carbon Production Network partners to produce over 40,000 face-shield halos. These halos are additive-manufactured with Carbon Digital Light Synthesis™ (DLS™) technology, which is the backbone of DPI’s Acceleration Station™ services.

Ventilator Parts and Laboratory Components

DPI and Pacific Plastics Injection molding (PPIM) are also manufacturing parts for ventilator stands ordered by the CDC as well as laboratory components used for a trial of a coronavirus vaccine in Seattle.
